New faces and places

Advent is a season of waiting and re-newing. This Advent we have added a new person to our branch of the family tree. Josephine Elizabeth Klaas came into the world November 30, 2007. We waited for her with baited breath as Grams had an airline ticket that was running out quickly! In the end, my ticket changed and I spent a joyful time with the new family of four. She was worth waiting for! And not just because I am her Grams. Elijah is a great big brother wanting to hold her and give her kisses. Christina went through birth and coming home to two with her usual clam and grace. Oscar smiled alot and enjoyed some proud Pop moments showing off his new daughter to peers and colleagues at a Santa party. An amazing time with a special family.

Luke and Keli are in Australia putting up with rain and working as telemarketers for the time being. I think their plan is to head North and see another part of the continent. Australia has experienced more rain since they have been there than the locals can remember! Good thing they have a sturdy and rain-proof tent to call home. This is the first Christmas that Luke will not be home to celebrate with us. Last year we had Keli with us, too.

Oscar and Christina will be here the day after Christmas We are looking forward to some Grams and Gramps time. What fun it is to be grandparents!

Hunting camp

This year, for the first time ever, Ted drew a tag on a deer in the hills behind Fairfield. The "hunt" was on! About 3 weeks before opening day the hunting party ( that is a very apt word) gathered to set up camp. Little did they know that a bear was in the area and after all their hard work of erecting the tent and storing supplies, the bear would happily check their work. He even tasted the mustard bottle.
Most weekends since opening day the trek has been made to hunting camp. As far as Ted is concerned, that is the best fun of all. He truly doesn't care if he shoots anything or not, and I for one am in accord! Venison is NOT our favorite meat.

Last weekend Luke, Nick, Ryan and Jackie ( ryan's girlfriend) gathered at the camp with Ted. They visited a small hot spring and enjoyed each other's company.

Luke and Keli leave for Australia tomorrow and Ryan and Jackie leve for Peru in the next week or two. Bon Voyage!

Summer at the Auction

It has been a busy Summer at the Auction.

Tim has been helping out, but his schedule at CSI has changed. He still manages to stop by a couple of times a week, usually when there is a pick-up load to be processed.

Theresa and family have taken over running the snack bar on Tuesdays. Theresa still keeps her hand in clerking.

2008 marks the 80th anniversary of Klaas Auction in Magic Valley.

I know this is not technically a post about the Klaas reunion, but it is a "union" I thought you all might like to see. They are pictures of Holly and Jason at their wedding along with their children Destiny, Raigan, and Kamryn. They got married today (July 7, 2007) on the Canyon Rim near the Perrine bridge in Twin Falls.
