Aunt Eileen Henry

Debbie Crisswell phoned me last week to let me know that mom's sister, Eileen, had died. The last time the two of them were together on earth, they sat in our house in Moro. It was Thanksgiving, 2001. They were both edging towards Alzheimers (Mom much more quickly than Eileen), so they sat in their rocking chairs all day, repeating the same old stories over and over again. The nice thing about it was, the stories were new to them both each time. Aunt Eileen lived with Debbie in Hillsboro for the past seven years. Where were we at this time last year?

It wasn't quite this time last year that we were at the beach in Oregon, but we were getting ever more excited about the upcoming trip! At our house we were baking cookies and counting the days until we got to see our little grandson ( and his parents!) Luke and Keli had not yet decided to head for Australia, and we didn't know that Josephine would be born the last day of November.


What an amazing time we had with the BIG family. So many memories, looking back on this blog replays those 'photos'. Meeting up with our traveling companions, settling in to the houses, tapping the keg, introducing ourselves to the beach, being quiet at 9:00pm (!) eating!!!


Today I was looking forward to NEXT year! Will there be a reunion? Will it be in Idaho? Who will be there? Marty are you ready for this?

I put up s few pics of Keli and I in Australia. We have been in AUS for about 3 months now and have made a great tour of this place while working a bit along the way. It was great fun to look back at the reunion pictures. It seems like it was a long time ago. Chat with you soon.
